Inspired

Back in college I wrote... Of course I had lots of inspiration. I read.

I havent been able to finish a book in years... probably due to the disproportionate amouzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz

Oh... where was I ... anyway...

Ive been reading a bit more lately, and it makes one think, and makes one want to express themselves... And I was inspired by this fellow and his blog.

So where does the title of the blog come from? What I am reading, and a firm expression of our iconic male in society.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and Superman.

ZATAOMM is a book I read years ago, and was an enjoyable read, so I decided to re-read it.
SUPERMAN, well heck... despite the latest movie about him... hes still one of my heroes.

***************

I am home today with my son, Baxter, who has had a severe asthma issue for the past few years, there is a pattern to his attacks but not enough to pin down the cause. Usually he becomes ill at the beginning of school, which is also when the weather changes, and the pollen count changes and so on. Nothing to nail down the cause.

He is coughing downstairs. He coughs all the time. I was up with him last night. The wife has been up with him the past week. Its my shift now, its gotten progressively worse each day and night... until yesterday we were called to pick him up from school midday. When I say he coughs all the time... I mean ALL THE TIME. Literally, if under medicated, and unchecked... he will have coughing bouts about every one to two minutes. Overnight... you can see the distress this will place on parents, and while that sounded selfish... its even worse on the boy. He coughs until he gags, gags until he cries, and finally cries until he throws up.

The doctors cant find anything as the definite cause.

I wish Superman were here. He would know what to do.

He could use his X Ray vision, and find out what is the matter with Baxter. Wait a minute, they have machines for that. The machines didnt tell us anything. Anything except, he has asthma... which we already knew.

Sometimes, I guess even a Superman cant help.

Ray, welcome to the blogosphere. Or our personal vision of hell, as I like to call it when I can't think of anything to write about.

Asthma is horrible. The Princess was diagnosed at about 18 months. We had times when we MDW and I were taking the nebulizer shifts for days on end. And don't get me started on the damage that prednisone did to her. Yikes.

I feel your pain, brother. I don't know how old your son is, but there is a small window of chance that he can grow out of it. Emily was down to a rare puff on her inhaler last year, and this year so far nothing.

Hang in there bud.

Namaste.
